We are Anthony and William. William, 41, is a Canadian lawyer working for the United Nations, and Anthony, 35, is a French financial market expert. In love for 10 years, married for 4 years. We have always known that we wanted to be parents and raise a kid together.

Our journey cannot come to fruition without the generosity of a woman. We admire altruistic motivation: the idea that a woman is willing to help another family out of the goodness of her heart is touching and deeply respectful.

As one of us is Canadian, it makes perfect sense that part of our child’s background be Canadian as well.

We would be immensely grateful and honoured if you accept being part of our child’s unique story.

We met in a cozy Italian bar in the Marais neighbourhood of Paris, 10 years ago.

Our first drink together allowed us to discover so much about each other. Anthony was immediately drawn to William's passion, which shone through as he spoke about the causes he champions, from humanitarian international law to animal rights. William was captivated by Anthony's eloquence, but it was a few months after this first drink that he discovered Anthony’s greatest strength.

On the night of November 13, 2015, when Paris was struck by terrorist attacks, we were out together in a restaurant close to these attacks. While everyone around us, including William, became overwhelmed with stress, Anthony remained calm and managed the situation with remarkable composure, ensuring that everybody got back home safely. His ability to provide comfort in such a crisis is a strength that William continues to admire deeply to this day.

For a long time, we lived in two different countries. COVID brought us closer as we quarantined together, which just confirmed that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

Now we have our own place in Paris. We have been happily married for 4 years, and we are embarking on the next chapter of our lives.

As this is a project we have been nurturing for a long time, we have read a lot about the various steps of the surrogacy process, including the associated costs. We both have thriving, stable jobs that have already allowed us to plan the expected costs of the journey. We are aware that unforeseen costs may arise during the pregnancy, and our savings allow us to proceed with confidence.

The relationship we hope to build

In a potential surrogate, we are looking for someone with whom we can create a meaningful bond, as she will be at the heart of this journey and will always be a part of our baby’s story. Transparency is crucial to us, as this journey affects both sides; we value open, honest communication to ensure mutual understanding and support. Additionally, we deeply appreciate the significant sacrifice the surrogate is making, so her health and well-being are of utmost importance to us.

We seek someone who is not only physically healthy but also emotionally prepared for this incredible journey.

Vaccination information

We trust medical science and hope our surrogate follows general vaccination recommendations.

Views on termination

If, during the pregnancy, a significant health issue is suspected that could severely impact the baby’s life expectancy and health, or put the surrogate’s health at risk, we are open to discussing abortion or termination options with our health specialists and the surrogate. Our priority is to ensure the well-being of both the surrogate and the baby, and we believe in making informed decisions through open dialogue with our medical team and the surrogate.

I am fortunate to be surrounded by a close-knit group of friends, and I find joy in hosting lunches and dinner parties to showcase what some might call culinary talents.

My passion for travel and my career in the legal profession led me to leave my native Canada and settle in Europe 14 years ago. To my family and friends back in Québec, I sound French, but to my new friends in France, I am unmistakably Canadian. No doubt, I have embodied my dual culture, pouring maple syrup over my French crêpes and being moved by Céline Dion singing Edith Piaf.

Interests and hobbies

Beyond my love for travel, I am fond of theatre for the emotions it evokes, and boxing for the emotions it allows me to release. My nerdy side shines through my hands and brain: I am a seasoned Lego builder, and a level 3-4 crossword expert.
