About them

After more than a decade together, we have built a life filled with love, laughter, meaningful careers, and the unwavering support of our family and friends. While our journey to parenthood has taken an unexpected path, it has never changed our dream of welcoming a child into our family.

Amy is a kindergarten teacher of 20 years who loves nurturing and inspiring children, and Andrew is a nephrologist with a passion for helping others and a strong interest in the business world. We enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle, spending time outdoors, cooking together, discovering new restaurants, and making memories with the people we love.

Although our path to parenthood has been more challenging than we expected due to Amy's medical history, we feel incredibly fortunate to have two PGT-A tested, euploid embryos ready for transfer. We are now searching for a caring person who can help us complete our family, and we hope to build a relationship based on trust, gratitude, and genuine connection along the way.

Relationship status

Married

We have been together for just over 10 years. Our story began with a blind date, set up through a friend of a friend, and we are so grateful that one introduction brought us together.

Over the years, we have built a loving partnership filled with shared experiences, laughter, adventure, and a strong foundation of support for one another. We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and are excited to continue growing our family together.

Financial preparedness

We understand that surrogacy is an extraordinary gift, and we are fully committed to ensuring our surrogate is fairly compensated and well supported throughout the journey.

We have planned financially for this process and are prepared to provide competitive compensation, along with coverage of all agreed-upon surrogacy-related expenses in accordance with applicable laws and our legal agreement. Our goal is for our surrogate to feel cared for, respected, and never burdened by out-of-pocket costs related to the pregnancy.

More than anything, we hope to build a relationship based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. We are happy to discuss financial details openly and work together to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported throughout the journey.

What they're looking for
Their hopes and requirements for a surrogate
Requirements

We are looking for a healthy gestational surrogate who meets the medical guidelines established by our fertility clinic. Ideally, our surrogate will have had at least one uncomplicated full-term pregnancy and delivery, have a healthy BMI, be a non-smoker, and be free of any medical conditions that could make pregnancy high risk.

Our fertility clinic will complete a comprehensive medical screening to ensure the safest possible journey for both our surrogate and our future baby. We are happy to discuss any specific requirements or answer questions throughout the process.

Above all, we are hoping to find someone who is kind, caring, and excited to help us build our family.

The relationship we hope to build

We would love to work with someone who lives a healthy lifestyle, has a strong support system, and feels confident and comfortable with the surrogacy process. While every relationship is different, we hope to stay connected throughout the pregnancy with regular updates and are happy to communicate in whatever way feels most natural and comfortable for our surrogate.

Above all, we want our surrogate to know how deeply grateful we are for this incredible gift. We are committed to supporting her every step of the way and ensuring she feels respected, appreciated, and cared for throughout the journey.

Vaccination information

We prefer that our surrogate be up to date on routine childhood vaccinations and receive the annual flu vaccine, as recommended by her healthcare provider. We do not have a requirement regarding COVID-19 vaccination.

Views on termination

We hope to work with a surrogate who is comfortable discussing these sensitive topics openly and who shares our values around making thoughtful decisions together with the guidance of medical professionals. We understand that pregnancy can involve unexpected situations, and we would want all decisions to be made with respect for the surrogate’s health, well-being, and safety.

Fun facts about me

Growing up, I loved staying active and creative. I spent my time golfing, skiing (both downhill and cross-country), dancing, and developed a lifelong appreciation for music and art.  I also love baking gluten-free treats, and one of my favorite compliments is when people can't even tell they're gluten-free!

Interests and hobbies

I love bringing people together through food. Whether I'm cooking a favorite family recipe, baking something special for friends, or discovering new recipes to try, the kitchen is one of my happiest places. Sharing homemade meals with family, friends, and colleagues is something that brings me so much joy.

We also love exploring fantastic restaurants and experiencing different cuisines.  We are always excited to discover a hidden gem or revisit our favorite spots.

When I'm not in the kitchen, you'll often find us out for a lovely walk in nature, strolling the seawall while visiting my family in Vancouver or enjoying Toronto's beautiful walking trails.

We’re also big sports fans and love going to hockey and baseball games whenever we can. Whether we’re cheering from the stands or watching from the comfort of our home.

As a kindergarten teacher, creativity is a big part of my life. I love finding fun, engaging ways to help children learn and grow, and bringing that same sense of curiosity and joy into everything I do.

What friends say
“

My friends would describe me as kind, caring, and someone they can always count on. I'm thoughtful, loyal, and the person who loves bringing people together by hosting a dinner, baking something special, or planning a fun get together.

They'd probably also say I'm optimistic, patient, and have a calm, steady personality. I genuinely enjoy helping others, and I try to make everyone around me feel welcomed, supported, and included. I'm curious by nature, love learning new things, and am always researching the next great recipe, restaurant, or travel destination.

Above all, I think my friends would say I have a big heart, value family and meaningful relationships, and approach life with gratitude, warmth, and a good sense of humour.

Fun facts about me

Something people may not expect about me is how strongly I advocate for patients. Experiencing healthcare as both a physician and a patient showed me how easily people with complex needs can feel unheard or fall through the cracks. It inspired me to find innovative ways to help people navigate difficult medical situations and access second opinions.

It also led me to pursue further training in integrative medicine. I believe in looking for the root causes of health problems and treating the whole person, rather than relying only on temporary, band-aid solutions. My own health challenges, which are thankfully manageable now, have made me even more committed to helping others feel heard, supported, and cared for.

Interests and hobbies

I enjoy music, exercising, and spending time outdoors, especially hiking. I also love going out to restaurants, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.

Animals have always been an important part of my life. I grew up with dogs, but somehow became a cat person along the way. Our cat, Violet, was adopted from a shelter and is now an incredible 22 years old. She has been part of our family for many years and is very special to us.

I have also cared about animal welfare and conservation from a young age. I grew up supporting the World Wildlife Fund and continue to support organizations such as the Humane Society that help protect animals and give them safe, loving homes.

What friends say
“

My friends would describe me as caring, loyal, curious, and dependable. I am someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and making the people around me feel supported. They would probably also say that I am hardworking and determined, but that I have a good sense of humour and enjoy bringing people together. I value kindness, honesty, family, and meaningful relationships, and I am known for being someone others can rely on.
