Doing their journey in Canada

About them

Hi, we are Rob and Daniel. We are a married couple from Sydney, Australia, and we are so excited to be embarking on our sibling journey.

Becoming dads to our beautiful daughter, has been the absolute greatest joy of our lives. We welcomed her into the world with the help of a wonderful surrogate. While she remains a deeply special part of our family's story, she is unable to carry for us again.

Our biggest dream is to give our daughter a sibling and complete our family. We already have our embryos safely waiting in Canada, and we are hoping to connect with a kind-hearted woman to help us write this next chapter. We chose to return because we have profound respect for the altruistic Canadian surrogacy community, and we are so incredibly grateful that you are taking the time to read our profile.

Relationship status

Married

Daniel and I crossed paths online back in 2013, and we've been building our life together ever since. When our 10 year anniversary rolled around, I had every intention of finally asking him to marry me. I completely chickened out in the moment, so the actual proposal ended up happening a little bit later than planned but thankfully, he still said yes.

We were married in May 2024 with a small very quick wedding surrounded by our closest family. The ceremony was literally 3 mins long, we didn't think that was the important part. We had our wedding reception ad home with family and close friends. Our honeymoon was we traveled to Canada the first time, It was the most meaningful trip we've ever taken, not just because we were celebrating our new marriage, but because it was the very first time we got to meet our incredible egg donor and our surrogate in person.

Over the years we have been lucky enough to go on countless holidays and share so many amazing experiences together. But looking back at everything we've done, absolutely nothing compares to the memories we've made since bringing our daughter into the world. Our greatest joy is being parents, and we cannot wait to see what memories we will create in the future as a growing family.

Kids today
1.

Our daughter, who is turning two just before Christmas, is a bundle of energy and the absolute light of our lives. She is a true outdoors kid and a total water bug. She is obsessed with ducks and will happily say "duck" whenever she spots one, even on TV.

We love watching her discover the world and figure out how things work. On the weekends, our favorite thing to do is head out for a family adventure, whether that's exploring a local park or just getting outside to enjoy the sunshine.

When we are at home, she spends her days running laps around the house and playfully tormenting our cats, or in the pool with Dad. She also shares an incredibly sweet bond with her Nanna (grandmother) and absolutely loves their time together.

We are raising her to know exactly how she came into the world, and she will always know the special role our Canadian surrogate and donor played in our story. We want her to grow up in a home filled with open conversations, gratitude, and a whole lot of laughter.

Being her dads is the best adventure we've ever been on, and watching her grow makes us even more certain that she is going to be a wonderful, energetic big sister. We can already picture her holding a new baby's hand, showing them the ropes, and pointing out every single duck they pass along the way.

Financial preparedness

We want to ensure that our surrogate feels completely supported and never has to worry about the financial side of this journey. We have spent years planning for our family's future, and we are in a stable, secure position to embark on this sibling journey. We have a comprehensive budget set aside specifically for this process.

It is incredibly important to us that all pregnancy-related expenses, medical costs, travel, and any lost wages are handled promptly and without any stress. We want our surrogate to be able to focus entirely on their health, their family, and the amazing gift they are helping create, knowing that we have the financial responsibilities completely taken care of.

Embryos
Yes.

We currently have our embryos safely created, PGT-A tested, and waiting for transfer at CReATe Fertility in Toronto. We have two euploid embryos and one mosaic embryo ready to go.

Because we went through CReATe for our first journey, we are on their "1 plus 1" package, which has given us a lot of peace of mind. For our medical care, we are working exclusively with Dr. Sharma. Our amazing egg donor actually requested to switch to Dr. Sharma during her donation cycle, and we have been happy with that choice.

What they're looking for
Their hopes and requirements for a surrogate
Requirements

The health and safety of our surrogate and our future baby are our top priorities, we are looking for a woman who meets the standard medical guidelines required by our clinic.

Generally this is a woman who is between 21 and 40 years old, has had at least one prior pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery, has finished creating her own family (doesn't want any more kids of her own), a non-smoker, drug-free and is comfortable undergoing the standard medical and psychological screenings required by the clinic to ensure she is physically and emotionally ready for a safe journey.

The relationship we hope to build

Preferably our surrogate would have a strong support system at home and shares our views on open and honest communication. While we may not be there for screenings or ultrasounds, we're always available on chat or call. You'll get your independence while still being supported.

Ultimately, we just want to partner with a kind-hearted woman who feels like a great, comfortable fit for our family.

Vaccination information

When it comes to vaccinations, our approach is simply to trust the science and our medical professionals. We keep our own family up to date on all standard vaccinations to protect our daughter's health, and we are looking to partner with a surrogate who shares that same general mindset.

It is important to us that our surrogate is comfortable following the standard, routine medical recommendations provided by the clinic and other medical professionals for a healthy pregnancy.

Views on termination

We are entering this journey with hopes for a smooth and healthy pregnancy. However, if there were a severe medical complication where the pregnancy became life-threatening, or if medical testing indicated a complete lack of quality of life for the baby, we would support termination.

Fun facts about me

The funniest overlap between my IT career and being a dad is that the ultimate fix is exactly the same. Whether it's a stubborn computer or a tired kid, forcing a quick reboot and taking a timeout usually solves the problem.

Interests and hobbies

Outside of work and raising our daughter, my hobbies are a mix of tech, travel, and casual gaming. I enjoy relaxing with movies or Nintendo favorites like Zelda, Mario and Pokémon. I'm also big on travel, particularly going on cruises or international destinations, Japan being a personal favourite.

What friends say
“

They’d probably describe me as dependable, practical, and grounded. I'm known as someone who is easygoing but always reliable when things need to get done, and they know that being a good dad and taking care of my family is my absolute top priority.

Fun facts about me

I started my career as a qualified chef before becoming a train driver. I still run the kitchen at home, but no matter how good the meal is, it depends on the day if our daughter will eat it.

Interests and hobbies

It’s all about making great memories. I love cooking for the people I care about, unwinding with a good game and our cats, taking photos to document our family's adventures. We love to travel and explore the world, anything from a big getaway to an easy, relaxing cruise, but my favorite place to be is just hanging out in the pool and spa with our daughter.

What friends say
“

My friends would say I have a solid balance between my job and my family life. I work hard, but the minute my shift is over, I know how to completely leave work behind and just enjoy my time off.
