We are Felix Ouellet (43) and Xin Wen (38). We first met in 2013 while attending university. We became a couple in 2018 and got married in 2020. In 2021 we started trying to have a baby naturally, but after over a year trying we turned to an IVF clinic in 2023, where we were diagnosed with low sperm count and motility for Felix, and diminished ovarian reserve for Xin. We thought things would work out, especially since several embryos passed the PGT-A. Sadly, despite multiple transfers, no implantation was successful, and no clear reason was found. We currently have two frozen embryos and are about to start another IVF cycle, hoping to create more. Now, we are exploring surrogacy with open hearts and gratitude.

Both my wife and I enjoy turning license-plate spotting into a fun little game. Whether we are on a road trip, walking through a parking lot, or just waiting at a red light, we like to check where plates are from, when they were created, and what the number or letter pattern might mean etc.
One other fun fact about me is that I enjoy geography-guessing games, such as the kind where you’re dropped into a random location on Google Maps and have to figure out where in the world you are.
I really enjoy watching all kinds of movies, from sci-fi and thrillers to action, comedies, and dramas, for the excitement as well as for the perspective. Video games are another favorite pastime, especially those with historical settings that let me explore the past in an interactive way. My taste in music is broad—I love everything from rock and pop to classical.
In the summer, I make the most of the outdoors by hiking scenic trails, cycling around new areas, camping in nature, and tending to our garden. During the winter months, I stay active and energized with workouts in our mini home gym.
Whenever I have the chance, I love traveling, discovering new places, and experiencing different cultures—it’s one of my favorite ways to gain fresh perspectives and create lasting memories.
“”My friends would describe me as someone who leads with kindness and honesty. They often note my patience—whether I’m helping someone work through a problem or taking the time to learn something new. They also see me as quick to understand, learn, and devise solutions. In short, the people close to me know me as reliable, caring, and driven—someone who approaches life with heart.
