About them

We, Alex and Mirko, are a married gay couple who enjoy travelling, meeting friends and family. We are both professional employees in an academic and engineering field. Furthermore, we have been lucky to own our small house which even though has enough space for a new beloved family member. Dear potential surrogate mother, we would like to thank you in advance for your attention and for considering us for this greatest gift in life.

We, Alex and Mirko, have been married since 2022, but have been in love and together since 2005. We met at a gay youth group for students, due to the fact that at this time LGBTQ people unfortunately did not "mix" in the same way or have been found among the "other" people and could not move, live and celebrate completely open as (luckily) today.

We live in our own row-house in a small town near Leipzig in the state of Saxony in Germany. Alex originally studied mechanical engineering management and currently works for Dell Technologies Inc. as an account manager. Mirko studied biology and biomedical engineering and works at a large German research institute (Fraunhofer) that focuses on life sciences and, among other things, research and development for the treatment of leukemia in children.

We enjoy travelling, meeting friends and family and now trying to do more and more sports. Furthermore, we try to make our small house as cozy as possible for a new beloved family member.

Financial preparedness

I saved money for our personal journey for about 15-20 years, so that it should cover all expenses in Canada but even in the USA. Alex and I are employed in highly skilled professional jobs so that we got an additional reserve.

We have been lucky that 8 healthy tested embryos are currently waiting in the permafrost of our clinic and 7 unknown little-ones more (which are not tested yet).

Requirements

Of course, we would prefer a healthy lifestyle and a good support network to ensure that the pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible. Age is not an issue for us as long as the strain of pregnancy does not pose an unbearable risk to the mother and child.

The relationship we hope to build

We are fine with every person that gives us such a great gift and chance in life. Of course we welcome all the points above, but the most important thing is that everybody stays healthy and lucky in this joint journey.

Vaccination information

We have no specific preferences about vaccinations but the usual ones that protect mothers and newborns during pregnancy (like Rubella).

Views on termination

If the child develops minor motor skills problems relating to the extremities, that would not be a problem at all, but we would like it to be able to participate fully in life mentally and not have any serious neurological (brain) defects that would completely exclude it from a fulfilling life.

Fun facts about me

Unfortunately, I have quite a phobia of spiders. However, I like snakes and rodents but not particularly in the house. I enjoy drawing pictures with a pencil and making up short stories. I would love to be able to sing well and play an instrument.

Interests and hobbies

I would describe myself as a communicative person who needs a little time to warm up to new people. Among my friends, however, I have to admit that I sometimes like to be the center of attention and play the role of moderator and "class clown". I am very interested in history, medicine and natural sciences, but I am not very fond of mathematics. I love fantasy and science fiction, both in books and in films or TV series. I would also describe myself as more empathetic than analytical, and I enjoy playing the amateur therapist for close friends. Now that I'm in my forties, I should pay a bit more attention to my diet and exercise. So I attend our company sports program and try to cook as healthily as possible, but I'm also a bit lazy and like it cozy. Those are my personal challenges right now :)

Fun facts about me

I am pretty much into old TV-series from my childhood like "Dallas", "Little House on the Prairie", "I dream of Jeannie" and "Columbo". When I have to watch new movies and shows with Mirko, I secretly read the story and the ending on my phone online, because I do not like unknown outcomes and surprises. But I take care not to spoiler everyone ;)

Interests and hobbies

I enjoy hiking and occasionally participate in sports such as rowing, swimming, and cycling. I am interested in modern technology and enjoy all kinds of puzzles and crafts. I like tinkering with things and optimizing them. I really like animals (especially cats) and nature.
