We’ve been together for over nine years and balance each other in all the best ways. One of us is endlessly curious, the other endlessly creative. One of our dogs is a total extrovert, while the other is sweet and cautious. Somehow, it all fits. We’ve spent the last several years hoping to become dads, and after an unexpected loss, we know more than ever that this isn’t just something we hope for, it’s the life we’re determined to build.

Growing up on a farm in Winnipeg, I'd help take care of a rotating litter of wild kittens.
I'd pick a grocery store over a museum any day.
We once hosted a casual TV-show viewing party, and I baked a four-tier cake... only realizing afterward that the recipe was intended to be a wedding cake.
I’ve been known to have full-on conversations with our dogs. I swear I can tell what they're thinking!
I’m lucky that I genuinely love what I do. I run my own creative studio, and I get to spend my days being creative, helping people solve problems, and finding new ways to bring ideas to life.
Outside of work, I love cooking and baking, especially when there are people to feed. I’m known for making unnecessarily elaborate turkey dinners at completely inappropriate times of year, and I love how food can bring people together and create traditions and memories.
I also love running, exploring, and spending time with Alex and our two Shibas, Niko and Soba, but I’m a homebody at heart. I love having friends over, cooking for people, and making home feel warm and full. I’m always up for trying somewhere new, but I’m just as happy returning to an old favorite or curling up under a blanket with the dogs.
“”My friends would probably say I’m the person who notices the little things. I remember what people like and usually have a plan for just about everything.
They’d also tell you that once I care about something, I’m all in. That applies equally to my work, my family, our dogs, and our journey to becoming dads. I can be very disciplined and organized, but I also don’t take myself too seriously and joke around with the people closest to me.
