Simone and Yannick

At a glance

Introduction

Dear future surrogate,

We are writing this to you with a mixture of quiet excitement and immense respect for the journey you are embarking on. We know that choosing the family you wish to support is a deeply personal, intuitive decision. Rather than trying to present a flawless, curated profile, we simply want to open our hearts and share our life with you, exactly as it is.

We are Yannick (33) and Simone (34), a married couple living in Switzerland. We share our home with Luna and Nina, our two French Bulldogs, who have perfected the art of making us laugh, taking over the sofa and snoring much louder than two small dogs should.

Our life is happy, stable and filled with love. We enjoy travelling and discovering new places, but we are equally grateful for quiet evenings at home, walks by the lake and time spent with the people we love. For many years, we have imagined becoming fathers and sharing this life with a child.

We hope to offer them a childhood filled with security, affection, curiosity and the freedom to become exactly who they are. We imagine the joyful moments, such as birthday celebrations, family adventures and bedtime stories, but we also understand that parenthood means patience, responsibility and being present through every difficult moment.

Relationship status

Married

We have been together for more than seven years and were married on April 26, 2025. Our story began with a simple message from Simone to Yannick on social media:

“Hi, how are you?”

There was nothing particularly unusual about those words, but the conversation that followed felt easy from the beginning. We quickly discovered that we could speak openly, laugh together and enjoy each other’s company without trying too hard.

Our first date was a little unconventional.

Instead of presenting only the most flattering versions of ourselves, we began talking about our habits, our insecurities and the small imperfections that make us human. It may not sound like the most romantic conversation for a first date, but it immediately created trust between us.

We laughed a lot, and neither of us felt the need to pretend.

During that evening, we also spoke about our values and the lives we hoped to build. The subject of having a family came up naturally, even though we had only just met. There were no plans at that stage, but we both recognized that we shared the same hope of one day becoming parents.

Shortly afterwards, we discovered a funny coincidence: we each had a female French Bulldog. Simone had Nina and Yannick had Luna. The dogs quickly became inseparable, and as our relationship developed, our two separate lives slowly became one little family.

Our personalities are quite different, but this is one of the strengths of our relationship. Yannick is expressive, spontaneous and often guided by his emotions. Simone is thoughtful, patient and tends to look at situations from every angle before making a decision. Yannick encourages Simone to let go, trust his feelings and enjoy the moment. Simone helps Yannick take a step back and find calm when emotions become overwhelming. Together, we are each other's Yin and Yang, balancing action with serenity.

One of the most memorable moments in our relationship happened during a trip to Monument Valley. Surrounded by the vast desert landscape, Simone asked Yannick to marry him. It was peaceful, intimate and completely unforgettable. Life became much more difficult shortly afterwards because of Yannick’s father’s illness. That period tested us in ways we had never expected, but it also showed us how strong our relationship had become.

We supported each other through difficult decisions, grief and uncertainty. We learned that love is not only found in celebrations or romantic moments. It is also found in patience, quiet support and the decision to remain beside one another when there is nothing that can make the situation easier.

When we finally married in 2025, our wedding represented much more than a ceremony. It was a celebration of everything we had already experienced and of our commitment to continue facing life as a team. We are not a perfect couple, and we do not try to be. We sometimes disagree, misunderstand each other or need time to see the other person’s perspective. What matters is that we communicate, listen and never lose sight of the respect we have for one another. Our relationship is built on love, affection, honesty and humour.

Nearly seven years after that first message, we still genuinely enjoy spending time together. We continue to make each other laugh, encourage each other’s dreams and create a life that feels meaningful to both of us.

We believe that the strength of our relationship does not come from never facing difficulties. It comes from knowing that whatever life brings, neither of us will have to face it alone.

What country are you doing your surrogacy journey in?

Canada

Financial preparedness

We are well informed about the surrogacy process in Canada, including the financial considerations involved throughout the journey.

We both have stable jobs and have carefully planned our finances to be prepared for the expected costs of this journey. We have also considered the possibility of unexpected expenses and are committed to being financially prepared to handle unforeseen circumstances.

Our goal is to approach this journey with transparency and responsibility, so that financial considerations are clear and never become a source of stress.

Fun facts about me

In my head, I sing like Mariah Carey and dance like Shakira. Reality may have a slightly different opinion...

Interests and hobbies

I love hiking with Luna and Nina, meditating, and keeping my husband humble by teasing him on a daily basis. I’m also slightly obsessed with organization especially storage boxes. I can reorganize the same cupboard several times a month, because everything needs to have a logical place… and apparently, that logical place keeps changing.

What my friends say

My friends would describe me as sensitive, loyal, cheerful, and optimistic. I’m a true Hufflepuff at heart : deeply devoted to the people I care about, always ready to support them, and usually able to find something positive even when things don’t go quite as planned.

Our story

We live in Lutry, a beautiful village in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, surrounded by vineyards, mountains and the waters of Lake Geneva. It is a peaceful and welcoming place, and one where we can easily imagine raising a child. We picture family walks near the lake, afternoons spent outdoors, meals shared with grandparents and friends, and a home where our child will always feel safe and listened to.

Music is often playing, and Yannick regularly turns the living room into his own stage. Simone is usually the audience, although Luna and Nina sometimes appear more interested in whether food may be involved. Sunday evening is our traditional pizza night. We prepare it together, while the dogs wait hopefully for a small piece of ham. These moments are simple, but they are the moments that make our house feel like home.

We both grew up believing that family means more than sharing a name. It means caring for one another, remaining present when life becomes difficult and creating a place where everyone can feel accepted. The values that guide us are kindness, honesty, responsibility, and respect. We deeply value openness and acceptance, believing that different backgrounds and perspectives only make our lives richer.

Yannick works as a specialized social insurance case manager. He supports people during vulnerable and important moments in their lives. His work reflects who he is: compassionate, attentive and deeply sensitive to the needs of others. Simone works as a Business Analyst. He enjoys bringing structure and clarity to complicated situations. He is calm, dependable and naturally thinks ahead, qualities that bring reassurance and stability to our life together. We hope to raise our child with these same values.

We want them to understand that kindness is a strength, that emotions should never be a source of shame and that differences should be welcomed rather than feared. We want them to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and knowing that they will always be loved without conditions.

One of the experiences that shaped us most deeply was the loss of Yannick’s father. He became ill shortly after our engagement, and we postponed our wedding plans so that we could remain close to him and support our family. Losing him was incredibly painful, but the way he lived continues to inspire us. He taught Yannick the importance of compassion, integrity and caring for others. Although our future child will not have the opportunity to meet him, we hope that they will know him through the stories we share and through the values he passed on to us.

Our journey to parenthood has already introduced us to a remarkable woman: our egg donor. We feel immense gratitude toward her because her generosity allowed the first part of our dream to become possible. We affectionately think of her as our “Fairy,” the person who offered the first spark of our child’s story. We intend to speak about her openly and respectfully with our child. We want them to grow up understanding their story and feeling proud of every person whose kindness helped bring them into the world.

Now, we hope to meet the woman who may help us continue that story.

We are drawn to surrogacy in Canada because of the importance placed on altruism, trust and genuine human connection. We do not see this journey as simply a medical arrangement. We see it as a relationship between people who have chosen to share something extraordinary. We would want you to feel respected, supported and heard at every stage. Your health, your comfort, your boundaries and the needs of your family would always matter to us.

We do not have a fixed expectation of what our relationship must become. We believe that the right relationship should grow naturally, with each of us bringing what the other needs and can receive, and be shaped together through honest communication. Whether the connection remains part of our lives for many years or develops in the way that feels most comfortable for you, we would always speak about you with admiration and gratitude.

Our child will know that they came into the world surrounded by generosity. They will know about the woman who offered the first spark and the woman who gave them a safe place to grow. They will understand that their life began through courage, trust and many different forms of love.

Matching preferences

Surrogate requirements

We are looking for a kind and caring woman, up to 45 years old, who has experienced at least one healthy pregnancy and is currently raising her own child or children. Ideally, she would have a healthy BMI and a pregnancy history with no more than 5 prior pregnancies.

We understand that every person's health and medical history are unique, and we trust the clinic's medical assessment to determine whether a surrogate meets the necessary health requirements for a safe pregnancy.

Most importantly, we hope to match with someone who is compassionate, committed to open and honest communication, and excited to share this meaningful journey with us.

Personal preferences

We hope to build a connection rooted in trust, respect, and kindness. For us, the ideal partnership is one where we can all communicate openly and honestly, sharing both the big milestones and the quiet, everyday moments of this journey.

We believe every family is unique, we hope to find someone who is open-minded and supportive of all kinds of love and backgrounds. A good sense of humor would be a wonderful bonus, we believe that sharing a laugh is often the best way to bring comfort, joy, and ease to this experience.

We understand that everyone has their own rhythm, personality, and lifestyle. We aren't looking for a forced connection, but rather a relationship that flows naturally. Most importantly, we want you to feel entirely safe and positive throughout this journey, knowing you can always voice your needs and feelings as we navigate this path together, hand in hand.

Vaccination information

We believe that vaccination is a personal choice and respect everyone's right to make informed decisions about their own health. At the same time, we generally support following the minimum medical recommendations provided by healthcare professionals to help ensure a healthy pregnancy. We are always open to discussing this topic together, and we do not see differences in vaccination preferences as an obstacle to continuing this journey together or building a positive and trusting relationship.

Views on termination

Throughout the journey, the health of the surrogate, as well as the baby, will always remain our highest priority.

We respect that the surrogate is the person carrying the pregnancy and that she has the final say over her own body and medical decisions. In situations where the health of the surrogate or the baby may be compromised, we believe it is important to carefully consider the advice and recommendations of the medical team and make decisions based on the best available medical guidance.
