About them

Hello, we are Nielisson and James, a Brazilian-Australian couple who live in Darwin, in the north of Australia. Nielisson is a game designer and 2D/3D artist and James is a university professor.

Becoming parents has long been one of our greatest dreams, and we are so ready to welcome a child into the loving family and home we have been building together. We are deeply grateful to be on this journey, and for this opportunity to connect and build a genuine connection with a surrogate based on trust, respect, kindness, and open communication.

We met in Paris in 2018, and have been together ever since. Although we now call Australia home, Paris will always hold a special place in our hearts; it’s where we first met and where we got engaged. We both speak French, along with a few other languages, and one of the things we’re most excited about as future parents is sharing those languages, cultures, and connections with our child from an early age.

Views on termination

We understand that difficult decisions can sometimes arise during a surrogacy journey. We would consider termination if the surrogate's health or life were at risk, or in cases of severe fetal abnormalities (where we would be guided by medical advice). We respect that everyone has their own beliefs and would like to discuss your views to ensure we're aligned from the start.

I love the holiday period around Christmas, spending time in quaint and cosy locations, exploring local markets, with a cup of mulled wine, soaking up the festive atmosphere!

Interests and hobbies

In my spare time I enjoy playing and listening to music (particularly playing in community orchestras, wind ensembles and chamber music groups).

Together with Nielisson, we both love to spend time in nature, go running and hiking, play boardgames with friends, and travel to new places.

Fun facts about me

I have a bag full of souvenirs and little tokens from my travels. I tend to collect and keep random things that remind me of vacations and experiences abroad, tickets, notes, even rocks… basically anything with a story attached to it.

Interests and hobbies

I love creating, whether that means painting with watercolors or building robotics projects. One of my favorite things is designing educational games that make learning more engaging. I’m also a language learner and enjoy discovering new ways of seeing the world.
