Hi! We're Elizabeth (Canadian-Italian) and Bruno (Portuguese-Canadian) — an RN and an IT Specialist — and proud cat parents to Vinnie (affectionately known as Beans 🫘) who has clearly decided Bruno is his favourite human, despite Elizabeth being the one who's completely obsessed with cats (go figure!)
After nearly two decades together, we've built a warm and welcoming home in a quiet neighbourhood of Etobicoke, surrounded by trees, gardens, and walking trails — the perfect place to raise a family.
Family and tradition are at the heart of who we are. When Elizabeth was younger, her Nonna used to host Sunday lunches filled with homemade Italian dishes, laughter, and stories that became some of her sweetest childhood memories. Now, every Sunday, we alternate lunches between our parents' homes with lively gatherings that always end with empty plates, full stomachs, and some leftovers too!
Every fall, we continue to honour our family traditions by making Italian tomato sauce (sugo) and Portuguese chouriço (sausages). One day, we hope to pass those recipes on to our child and continue the Sunday family traditions for generations to come.
Elizabeth loves nature walks, yoga and pilates, and finds peace in mindfulness practice. She also enjoys gardening, cozy nights at home and reading inspirational books that nurture her mind and spirit. Bruno enjoys cheering on his favourite soccer team, Benfica, or hockey team, Boston Bruins. Fun fact: we went to Boston in 2011 for the playoffs where they won the Stanley Cup! This year, Bruno was able to cross off his bucket list of watching Benfica play soccer in Portugal. Bruno also likes to watch action movies in his home theatre (though Elizabeth usually falls asleep before the opening credits!), and curating his own coffee (ask how many coffee machines we have!)
Elizabeth's autoimmune condition (celiac disease) makes food a little tricky, but she's learned to turn that challenge into creativity. Bruno is always the supportive taste tester, even if the meal doesn't turn out quite as planned. Bruno is the master barbecuer in the home, and Elizabeth happily eats all his yummy home-cooked meals (and doesn't complain one bit!)
We're big fans of watching cooking shows to learn new recipes and binge on anything with Gordon Ramsay (we've definitely picked up a few tips... and maybe a few of his famous expressions too! 🍩) Elizabeth's favourite food is steak and potatoes and Bruno's is deluxe pizza (no pineapple please!)
One of Elizabeth's dreams is to foster cats in need, especially senior cats, to make sure they have comfort, love, and a furrever home. Bruno dreams of retiring in Portugal one day, and Elizabeth will gladly follow along — especially if it means eating all the gluten-free pasteis de nata, sipping on freshly brewed espressos, and being woken up by the roosters' crow at the crack of dawn (and immediately falling back to sleep afterwards).
Our Fertility Journey
After several miscarriages and developing health complications, we learned that it's not safe for Elizabeth to carry a pregnancy again. Accepting that reality was incredibly difficult but with grief comes hope and healing.
We're working with Tripod Fertility, and our three PGT-A tested embryos are safely stored at IVF Canada in Markham. Everything is coordinated through Tripod, and our clinic team has been a wonderful source of support and compassion.
To Our Future Surrogate
We're hoping to connect with a kind, grounded woman who values trust, compassion, mutual respect, and open communication. Someone we can share laughter, lasting memories, and a meaningful bond throughout this journey and beyond.
We understand that every surrogacy journey is unique, and we deeply respect your comfort level — whether you prefer to stay in regular contact or keep a bit more distance, we'll always honour what feels right for you.
