About them

Can you hear it? We think a lot about what our future home will sound like.

It's the French and Calabrian chatter of friends and family over the dinner table. Vincent on piano, singing Caccini. Colin on kiddo duty with a toddler monster terrorizing the Lincoln Log and Magna-Tile world that's taken over the living room.

We're Colin and Vincent, a married couple and intended parents in Vancouver, BC. And we are so ready to hear the beautiful chaos of growing up:

  • Squeals of delight from muddy playground chases.

  • Loud, dramatic wails over the wrong-colored cup at bedtime.

  • The endless, curious loop of our tiny person asking 'Why?'

Listening is a big part of our professional lives. Vincent is a palliative care doctor and anesthesiologist, and Colin works in mental health. We know that parenting will bring new challenges, and noises, and we excited for the joys, sorrows, and every-day-little-things ahead.

If we’re fortunate enough to become fathers, we suspect we’ll spend the first year simply in awe that it’s real.

We’re incredibly grateful to be at this point and to be starting this journey. We’re looking forward to meeting the person who might help us make this dream a reality and, hopefully, building a meaningful connection along the way.

Relationship status

Married

We’ve been together since 2020, when we met on Hinge while Vincent was living in Vancouver, British Columbia and Colin was living in Seattle, Washington. We started out long-distance and spent a lot of time travelling back and forth before eventually making Vancouver our home together.

We genuinely like spending time together, which we think is one of the best parts of our relationship. We hike, travel, cook, go out for dinner, see friends, and spend a lot of weekends doing very little at all. A typical weekend might involve time outside, brunch, reading, and getting caught up in a conversation that lasts much longer than either of us intended.

We’re different in plenty of ways, too. We have different interests and personalities, and we certainly don’t agree on everything. But we’ve always been able to talk things through, and we’ve learned a lot from each other over the years.

Marriage has taught us that being a good partner is often less about grand gestures and more about the little things: being there when the other person has had a difficult day, making dinner when they’re tired, remembering what matters to them, and making each other laugh.

We’re excited to bring that same partnership into parenthood. We know it will be a completely new chapter for us, and we’re looking forward to figuring it out, together.

Financial preparedness

We want you to feel financially secure and cared for throughout this journey. We’re fully prepared for the AHRA reimbursement process and our surrogacy fund is already set aside — this isn’t something we’re figuring out as we go.

Our goal is simple: you should never be out of pocket. We want you to be assured that you have everything you need. If an unexpected need comes up, we want to know and to provide that support as seamlessly as possible.

Embryos
Yes.

We have our PGT-A tested euploid embryo at Olive Fertility in Vancouver, BC.

We have additional egg lots available and 7 vial-units of sperm frozen. We have pre-arranged with the clinic for more embryos to be created for any subsequent transfers as needed.

Fun facts about me

I’ve run three ultra-marathons and finished last in all of them (Sometimes life is a participation sport :)

Interests and hobbies

Nature calls! I was a competitive rower in college and while my boat-days are behind me spending time outside is still a huge part of my life.

I love rock climbing, hiking, and swimming. You could say I’m that guy who moved to PNW and made it my personality or maybe it was just meant to be.

Sudoku, medieval history, and puzzles are other pastimes and interests.

What friends say
“

The one who keeps track of everyone. I’m the person who introduces two friends who should know each other, then follows up to make sure they actually met. My friends would tell you I’m consistent more than I’m dramatic. But I do love a lively dinner table discussion. I answer the phone, I remember what’s going on in your life, and I don’t disappear when things get complicated. I care a lot about fixing broken systems, especially in healthcare, and helping people find the support they need when life gets hard.

Fun facts about me

I did a double major in music and French literature andI lived and studied in the South of France for a year 🇫🇷

I love sacred choral music from the Medieval and Renaissance periods.

I was born to Southern Italian parents 🇮🇹

Interests and hobbies

Music has always been an important part of my life. I studied music as an undergraduate and, before going into medicine, seriously considered pursuing a master’s in choral conducting. Classical music is still something I enjoy very much. I love going to concerts, listening at home, playing the piano, and continuing to work on my tenor repertoire. Music remains a source of enjoyment, curiosity, and connection for me.

I also really enjoy being active and spending time outdoors. Fitness has become an important part of my routine, particularly strength training and running, but I especially love hiking. I enjoy being outside, challenging myself physically, and discovering beautiful places. Some of my favourite experiences have been travelling somewhere new and getting to know a place through walking, hiking, and being outdoors.

I enjoy cooking and having people over. I like the simple pleasure of preparing a meal, opening a bottle of wine, and spending an evening around the table with friends or family. I particularly enjoy having friends over with their children and hope to make my home a place where people feel comfortable, welcome, and celebrated.

Community has also become increasingly important to me. After moving to Vancouver, I started a queer book club that is still going today. It has been a really rewarding way to deepen friendships and discover new literature. I’ve learned that I value creating opportunities for people to come together, even in small ways.

Outside of medicine, I’m interested in many of the things that make everyday life beautiful and meaningful: music, books, food, cooking, travel, the outdoors, design, and spending time with people I care about. I like learning new things and trying to approach life with thoughtfulness and intention.

What friends say
“

My friends would describe me as warm, thoughtful, curious, and someone who cares deeply about the people in my life. I love bringing people together, whether that’s over a long dinner, a home-cooked meal, a concert, or an adventure somewhere new. I’m naturally curious and always learning, but I also value the quieter things in life—good conversation, music, being active, and spending time with the people I love. I think my friends would say that I’m loyal, dependable, and intentional about my relationships, and that I try to approach life with both a sense of purpose and a good sense of humour. I’m someone who feels very grateful for the people who have shaped my life and who hopes to bring that same warmth, curiosity, and love into becoming a parent.
