Christina and Anthony

Journey location: Canada

At a glance

Introduction

We're Christina and Anthony from Ontario, Canada. We've been together for 14 years, married for 3 and have always dreamed of growing our family. Because of Christina's medical condition, MRKH, carrying a pregnancy isn't possible, but we're so grateful that surrogacy can make parenthood a reality for us. We've gone through IVF and now have embryos ready, and we're excited to be here, hoping to connect with someone who feels like the right match. Family is so important to us, and we can't wait to share that love with a child.

Fun facts about me

Christina can play the piano, has spent six months volunteering in India teaching children the English language, and loves to make pancakes every Sunday morning. And will never turn down a new Netflix reality TV show.

Interests and hobbies

I love spending time with family and friends, whether that’s hosting a game night, cooking a homemade meal, or enjoying a cozy coffee date. I also love being active and make it a goal to get outside every day for a walk, or go to a yoga class. Reading is another big passion of mine, especially thrillers and fantasy novels, and I’m always on the lookout for my next great book. Traveling, exploring new places, and creating memories along the way bring me a lot of joy.

What my friends say

Christina's friends would describe her as caring, thoughtful, and dependable. She is also bubbly and friendly. She never forgets someone's birthday and always makes them feel special on that day. She is the one who checks in, remembers the little details, and is always there to lend an ear or help however she can. She loves hosting get-togethers and is often the planner of the group. Whether it's hosting Friendsgiving or games nights, she loves creating moments that bring people together.

Director of Systems and Technology

Fun facts about me

Anthony is known for making the best cappuccinos, can pick up learning new things very quickly, and has perfected his chocolate chip cookie recipe. He is also known to be humorously competitive when it comes to board games.

Interests and hobbies

I’ve always been active and enjoy playing sports with friends — hockey, golf, and soccer are a few of my favourites. I love spending time outdoors, whether that’s golfing in the summer or staying active year-round. At home, I enjoy making cappuccinos and relaxing together with a good show or movie. Coming from a big Italian family, I also enjoy spending time with family, from casual get-togethers to bigger celebrations, and always up for a laugh and good company.

What my friends say

Anthony's friends would say he is loyal, fun to be around, and always up for a laugh. He's the kind of person who never turns down a game of hockey or golf with buddies, and values those times spent staying active together. He golfs every Sunday with his dad and brother and loves the bonding time he gets to share with them. He is easygoing and has a calm presence. Anthony famously is loved by every pet, cat or dog, he meets.

Our story

We’re Christina and Anthony from Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. We met in 2011 at a friend’s soccer game when we were just 18, and from that very first summer of laughing, going on adventures, and spending every second together, we knew it was something special. More than a decade later, we’re still laughing every day, exploring new places, and creating memories side by side.

Family & Friends
Family and friends are at the center of our lives. We both come from big Italian families who cherish Sunday dinners, loud holiday gatherings, and sharing good food. Our circle also includes a wonderful group of friends (we even play on a volleyball team together!) who are just as excited as we are to welcome a new little one into our traditions. We feel lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support.

Our Fertility Journey
When Christina was 16, she was diagnosed with MRKH and learned that carrying a pregnancy wouldn’t be possible. She can still remember sitting with her mom in the doctor’s office that day and how overwhelming that moment was. Early in our relationship, Christina shared her diagnosis with Anthony, and he has been an unwavering support ever since. On the hard days, when the weight of not being able to carry feels heavy, Anthony is there as a shoulder to lean on and a reminder that we’re in this together. Through IVF, we now have embryos ready and waiting, and surrogacy gives us the incredible opportunity to fulfill our dream of becoming parents — something we are endlessly grateful for.

What This Journey Means to Us
This past May, we lost our beloved 12-year-old dog, Callie, to an aggressive bone cancer. We had her since she was a tiny puppy, and she was truly the heart of our home. Losing her was heartbreaking, but she also taught us what unconditional love feels like — and reminded us how much love we are ready to give as parents. We know surrogacy is a huge commitment, and we don’t take that lightly. For us, this journey is not only about building a family, but also about forming a relationship based on trust, respect, and genuine care. We promise to walk alongside our surrogate with kindness, gratitude, and openness every step of the way.

Looking Ahead
We dream of the day we’ll hold our child for the first time, surrounded by the love of our family and friends. More than anything, we’re excited to share our lives, our traditions, and our love with them. Christina can’t wait to read bedtime stories and pass on her love of books, while Anthony looks forward to discovering which sports light up our little one’s heart. And of course, we can’t wait to make extra pancakes on Sunday mornings for one more at the table.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are so hopeful, so grateful, and so excited for the future that lies ahead.

Surrogate requirements

Our clinic has provided us with some general guidelines for a safe and healthy journey. They recommend that a surrogate be between the ages of 21–45, have had at least one healthy pregnancy and delivery, and be in overall good health with no major complications in past pregnancies. A stable BMI and non-smoking lifestyle are also preferred. Beyond medical guidelines, what matters most to us is working with someone who feels comfortable, supported, and respected throughout the process.

Personal preferences

Beyond the medical guidelines, what matters most to us is finding a surrogate who feels like the right fit personally. We value open and honest communication, kindness, and mutual respect. We’d love to work with someone who is family-oriented, caring, and dependable — qualities that we also try to live by in our own lives. Lifestyle-wise, a healthy and balanced approach is important, but above all, we hope to connect with someone who shares the belief that this journey is built on trust, support, and partnership.

Vaccination information

We value the health and safety of both our surrogate and our future baby. Our clinic recommends that surrogates be up to date on routine vaccinations, including childhood vaccines. We’re aligned with this guidance and believe it helps create the healthiest possible environment for everyone involved. That said, we’re happy to have open conversations and follow the advice of our medical team to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Views on termination

We understand that conversations around pregnancy termination can be difficult but are very important to have upfront. Our perspective is to follow the guidance of our medical team and specialists if serious medical concerns arise. While our deepest hope is for a smooth, healthy pregnancy, we believe in making decisions that protect the health and safety of both the surrogate and the baby. We know this is a sensitive and personal topic, and we’re committed to open, respectful conversations to make sure we are fully aligned together before moving forward.
