About them

We are Ian and Catrin, both 32 years old and live in Ontario about an hour north of Toronto. We love spending time with family and friends, catching a soccer game, trying new restaurants, and making memories together. We have been together for 13 years and married for 8, so we have grown up a lot together and are excited for this next chapter in our lives.

We met in high school, though it definetly wasn't love at first sight. Ian had a crush that he made sure was known but settled for the friend zone. We remained friends throughout high school and kept in touch afterwards and coincidently ended up at the same campus for post secondary. We would often carpool and ended up spending a lot more time together, and somehow 4 years later Ian's persistence payed off as Catrin finally agreed to a date. As they say the rest was history. We moved in together shortly after, was married in 2019, and now am looking to complete our family.

Financial preparedness

We want our surrogate to feel supported and comfortable throughout this journey, including when it comes to finances. We have a dedicated savings account set aside from our day to day expenses specifically for surrogacy. We are full prepared and equipped to reimburse and pregnancy related costs such as, medical expenses, travel costs, legal fees, time off work if needed, as well as any other expenses agreed upon. We understand that there are many expenses and practical considerations along the way, and we want to approach them together with honesty, care, and clear communication. Most of all, we want our surrogate to to feel appreciated, respected, and supported every step of the way. We've worked hard to financially prepare ourselves in order to ensure financial security for our surrogate.

Requirements

We have medical guidelines that will help to determine the eligibility of our surrogate as per our fertility clinic. Factors include:

*between the ages of 21-40

*has had at least one uncomplicated full-term pregnancy

*maintains a healthy BMI

*has no history of significant pregnancy complications

*is a non-smoker and doesn't use recreational drugs

*has had at least one full-term uncomplicated pregnancy

*is willing to complete all required medical and psychological screenings

The relationship we hope to build

Preferable we would like to find a surrogate within Ontario so we can be as involved in the pregnancy journey as possible and offer support along the way. We hope to find someone who is caring, open with communication, and who have some shared interests. We hope to create a life long friendship that will continue beyond the pregnancy.

Views on termination

If serious medical concerns arise during pregnancy, whether affecting the surrogates health or the babys development, we would want to have open and honest communication, seek medical guidance, and make sure everyone has the information and support need to navigate the situation.

If continuing the pregnancy posed a serious risk to the surrogates health or life, or in the event of a serious fetal diagnosis, we would want to understand the circumstances, the medical outlook, and the options available before making any decisions together as a team. These decisions affects both parties and needs to be treated as so. We would want to make sure we are making the best decision for both families that protects the health and well being of everyone.

Fun facts about me

Technically I share the title of eldest sibling with my fraternal twin however, I always make sure to remind her I was born 3 minutes before her. Although we share a birthday, in some ways we couldn't be more opposite. I'm pretty laid back and enjoy the simple things in life, I excel at math and science as I don't have a creative bone in my body, and I love soccer. I was very active growing up spending a lot of my free time playing competitive soccer.

Interests and hobbies

I love spending time with friends and family. Sunday night dinner at my parents, weekend lunch dates with friends, game nights, or even spending my day off running aunty daycare. I am also an avid book reader. Within the last couple years I found my love for reading again, loving all things romantasy. I'm steadily working through my TBR list with dreams of my own little home library.

Fun facts about me

I like to challenge my culinary skills by competing in cooking competitions. Just out of culinary school I won a competition that took me on a 2 week culinary exchange program to Victoria British Columbia. later in my career, I was given the opportunity to be apart of Culinary Team Canada as a junior and senior member, traveling around the world competing for my country. My culinary escapades have afforded me the pleasure to travel and explore parts of the world.

Interests and hobbies

I love to cook for others and entertain. I am a true social butterfly that will jump at any opportunity to spend time with friends and family putting together elaborate meals and hosting dinner parties. Feeding people is definitely my love language so if you leave my house hungry I haven't done my job! I also have a deep love for music. I spend a lot of time listen to music of all types as well as I play piano and bass weekly in our local church band. So there is never a shortage of good food or music in our house! My past times include skiing in the winter and I golf through the summer. Because of Catrin I have learned to love soccer, and boy has she created a monster. I am now a big soccer fanatic and huge supporter of Man United.
