About them

Hi! We're Nate and Kent.

First, thank you for taking the time to read about us. We know you probably have a lot of profiles to look through, and we're honored that you're considering ours.

We've been dreaming about becoming parents for a long time. Like many same-sex couples, we knew our path to having a family would look different, but that has only made us more intentional about it. We've spent years talking about the kind of parents we hope to be, building a stable life together, and preparing for this moment.

We're looking for more than someone to help us have a baby. We hope to find someone who believes, like we do, that families can be built in many beautiful ways. If you're reading this, there's a chance you'll become part of our family's story forever, and that's something we'll never take for granted.

Relationship status

Life partner

We've been together for four years, and from the very beginning, our relationship has been built on curiosity, laughter, and a genuine appreciation for each other's differences. We try to be thoughtful people, we value respectful communication, and we are determined to build a shared life together that is about something bigger than ourselves.

One thing we're especially proud of is the effort we put into our relationship. We believe healthy relationships don't happen by accident, they're something you continually invest in. That's one of the reasons we started doing couples therapy within the first year of dating. It wasn't that anything was "wrong," we just wanted to be intentional about creating a space to strengthen our communication, better understand each other, and continue growing together. It's become something we genuinely enjoy and has given us tools that have made our relationship even stronger.

We also love sharing experiences together. Whether we're traveling, cooking, hanging out with friends and family, or simply taking a walk and talking about life, we're happiest when we're making memories together. We both have a deep curiosity about the world and enjoy meeting new people and seeing other perspectives, which makes it even more fun to travel together.

Our journey toward parenthood has been one of the most meaningful experiences we've shared. Every step has reinforced how much we want to build a family together. We know there will be challenges along the way, but we're excited for them because we'll face them as we always have: side by side, with kindness, patience, plenty of laughter, and a commitment to supporting one another. We hope that the incredible person who helps us grow our family feels like a valued part of that story.

Financial preparedness

Bringing a child into our family has been a dream we've been thoughtfully preparing for over the past several years. From the very beginning, we've approached this journey with careful planning, making it a priority to save and ensure we would be financially prepared before moving forward.

We have already funded both our IVF treatment and donor agency expenses and have also set aside the recommended funds to support every stage of the surrogacy journey. We wanted to enter this process knowing we could focus our energy on building a positive relationship with our surrogate rather than worrying about finances.

We recognize the incredible commitment surrogacy requires, and we believe financial preparedness is one of the many ways we can show our respect for the process. Our goal is for our surrogate to feel supported, valued, and confident that we've done everything we can to make this journey as smooth and worry-free as possible.

Embryos
Yes.

After a long but incredibly rewarding IVF journey, we're grateful to have nine genetically tested (euploid) embryos between the two of us. Knowing we have healthy embryos ready for transfer has given us so much hope and excitement as we look toward the next chapter of growing our family. We feel fortunate to have reached this point and are now looking for the right surrogate to partner with us. More than anything, we're excited to begin this journey together and hope to build a relationship based on trust, communication, and mutual respect.

What they're looking for
Their hopes and requirements for a surrogate
Requirements

Our fertility clinic has provided medical guidelines that will help determine eligibility, including factors such as age, previous healthy pregnancies, BMI, overall health, and obstetric history.

More specifically, we're generally looking for someone who:

  • Is between approximately 21–40 years old (or within our clinic's guidelines)

  • Has had at least one uncomplicated full-term pregnancy

  • Has no history of significant pregnancy complications

  • Maintains a healthy BMI according to clinic requirements

  • Is a non-smoker and does not use recreational drugs

  • Is willing to complete all required medical and psychological screening

We understand that every clinic has its own requirements and are happy to discuss any questions with potential surrogates.

The relationship we hope to build

We're hoping to find someone who is kind, honest, dependable, and communicates openly.

We would love to have a friendly relationship throughout the pregnancy where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, sharing updates, and celebrating milestones together. Every surrogate has different preferences for communication, and we're happy to find a balance that feels comfortable for everyone.

We deeply respect the physical and emotional commitment involved in surrogacy and want our surrogate to feel supported throughout the journey. Whether that means checking in regularly, celebrating important milestones, sending care packages, or simply respecting personal boundaries, we'll always approach the relationship with gratitude and compassion.

Vaccination information

The health of both our surrogate and our future baby is extremely important to us. We generally plan to follow the recommendations of our fertility clinic and maternal-fetal medicine specialists regarding vaccinations during pregnancy. Ideally, we'd like our surrogate to be current on recommended vaccinations and comfortable following evidence-based medical guidance throughout the pregnancy. We're happy to have open conversations about any questions or concerns.

Views on termination

We understand that the decision to terminate a pregnancy is extremely personal. We hope for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby, but if a serious medical complication or diagnosis were to arise, we would want decisions to be made thoughtfully, compassionately, and in close consultation with qualified medical specialists. We believe these situations deserve careful consideration and open communication between everyone involved. Every circumstance is unique, so we believe it's important to discuss expectations thoroughly before matching so that we're all fully aligned and feel comfortable with how difficult decisions would be approached together.

Fun facts about me

One thing that surprises people is that I speak multiple languages. Growing up in a large Ghanaian family, I was surrounded by different languages, traditions, and an endless number of relatives. My mom has ten sisters and two brothers, so family gatherings are always full of laughter, stories, and cousins; there's never a dull moment.

Traveling is one of my greatest joys, especially when I get to share it with my partner. We love wandering beyond the typical tourist spots to find hidden beaches, quiet hiking trails, cozy cafés, and little local gems that make each destination memorable. I'm a big fan of road trips, and whenever we're away, you'll usually find me exploring on a bike just as often as on foot.

I also have a bit of a funny contradiction: I don't usually love running, but put me on vacation and suddenly I'm happy to go for a morning run... especially if it ends at a local café with a great donut or pastry waiting at the finish line. For me, every adventure is a little better when good food is involved.

Interests and hobbies

I find joy in the balance between science and creativity. As a clinical pharmacist, I've always been fascinated by medicine, problem-solving, and the opportunity to improve people's lives. But outside of work, I love embracing the more creative and spontaneous side of myself; what I like to think of as my Gemini half keeping everything in balance.

Being outdoors is where I feel most at home. Whether I'm hiking a scenic trail, exploring a new city, or traveling somewhere completely unfamiliar, I love experiences that broaden my perspective and connect me with different cultures, people, and ways of life. I believe some of life's greatest lessons come from stepping outside your comfort zone.

Music has always been a constant in my life, and if there's a beat playing, chances are you'll find me dancing. It doesn't matter if it's a wedding, a night out with friends, or my own living room, I rarely pass up an opportunity to dance. I also enjoy writing, especially poetry. It's one of my favorite ways to reflect, express myself, and capture moments and emotions that don't always fit into everyday conversation.

Above all, I value genuine connection. Whether it's sharing a great meal, planning the next adventure, spending time with the people I love, or simply laughing until it hurts, those are the moments that mean the most to me. I try to approach life with curiosity, gratitude, and a willingness to embrace whatever adventure comes next.

What friends say
“

I think the people closest to me would say I'm someone they can count on. Loyalty is one of the values I hold most closely, and I care deeply about showing up for the people I love, whether they're celebrating life's biggest moments or simply need someone in their corner. Helping others has always been part of who I am, and I find a lot of fulfillment in supporting people however I can.

They'd probably also say I'm spontaneous. I love saying yes to new adventures, whether that's hopping on a plane, finding a new hiking trail, or dancing wherever there's good music. Some of my favorite memories have come from the moments I didn't overthink and simply embraced.

I'm naturally driven and love challenging myself, but I also believe growth doesn't stop when you leave work. I'm always learning; whether it's becoming a better leader, a better partner, or simply a better person. One lesson I'm still learning is to trust the world a little more and to embrace the uncertainty that often leads to life's best experiences.

Above all, I hope the people in my life would say I lead with kindness, stay true to my word, and leave them feeling supported, encouraged, and loved.

Fun facts about me

Since Kent and I met, travel has become one of the things that excites me most in life. I savor every opportunity to experience different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. Some of my favorite memories have come from celebrating Midsummer in Sweden, exploring the streets of Paris during Pride, and visiting Ghana to experience my partner's culture and meet his family. I try as much local food as I can, and I could spend hours wandering through tucked away neighborhoods to discovering the hidden places that make each destination feel unique.

In fact, I've become so passionate about our travels that I've pinned over 2000 unique locations on Google Maps that I hope to visit one day. This list includes hidden cafés, scenic hiking trails, obscure museums, botanical gardens, and little restaurants tucked away on side streets. Planning future adventures has become almost as much fun as taking them.

Another fun fact about me is that I have nine nieces and nephews in my family, and they’re all under the age of five! Family gatherings have become increasingly wonderfully chaotic, full of laughter, toys, and little personalities that keep everyone entertained. Being an uncle has given me so many opportunities to watch kids grow, celebrate milestones, and appreciate the joy and curiosity they bring to everyday life.

Interests and hobbies

I've always been someone who loves learning and creating. I'm a graphic designer by profession, so creativity is a big part of my everyday life, but it also spills over into my hobbies. I love painting, exploring museums, and geeking out over great design, architecture, and typography. If something catches my interest, I tend to dive in headfirst and learn everything I can about it.

Outside of work, I really enjoy cooking and trying recipes from different cultures. My partner and I are always experimenting with new meals together. I also love gardening and growing herbs and vegetables, and there's something incredibly satisfying about watching a tiny seed turn into something you can share around the dinner table.

Most of all, I love spending quality time with the people I care about. Whether it's having long conversations over dinner, exploring somewhere new, or simply relaxing at home, those are the moments that mean the most to me.

What friends say
“

I think my friends would say I'm thoughtful, curious, dependable, and a good listener. I'm often the person asking a million questions because I genuinely enjoy getting to know people and understanding how they see the world. Once I become interested in something, I can get completely immersed in it, and I've been to pull random facts out of my head that got filed there long ago.

They'd also probably say I'm creative and engaged. I love bringing ideas to life, whether it's through design, planning a project, or helping someone solve a problem. At the same time, I try not to take life too seriously. I enjoy making people laugh, finding little moments of joy, and creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable and included.

Above all, I hope the people closest to me would say that I genuinely care. I try to show up for the people I love, celebrate their successes, and be there when life gets difficult.
