Doing their journey in Canada

About them

We are Jim and Sander from the Netherlands two cheerful guys who have been each other’s "big love" for many years. We love cooking together, going for walks in nature, traveling, and spending evenings with friends and family. Our life is full of love, humour, and adventure and we are excited to one day spend these heartfelt days with our children.

Both of us have a background in nursing, so caring for others is deeply rooted in who we are. Now we hope to share that care and love with a child. With the help of a wonderful egg donor, our embryos are ready and now we can begin the exciting step of finding our surrogate and becoming dads together.

For us, it’s not only about having a child, but also about building a meaningful connection with our surrogate. We want to share this journey together with openness, respect, and warmth. We dream of raising a child in a loving and safe home, surrounded by family, joy, and endless love.

If our story speaks to you, we would love to connect. ❤️

Embryos

Yes, we have 6 embryos created with the help of a wonderful egg donor. We feel very grateful that this important step is already completed and our embryos are frozen at Tripod Fertility in Ontario. All embryos have been tested (PGT), and we are now hopeful to find a surrogate to continue this journey together.

What they're looking for
Their hopes and requirements for a surrogate
Requirements
  • Between 21-35 years old with a healthy BMI

  • Healthy pregnancy history with no more than 5 previous deliveries.

  • Has completed their family, has a stable home environment and strong support system.

  • Has reliable transportation.

  • Is open to a hospital birth.

  • Would like to build a relationship with us and stay in contact with our family.

The relationship we hope to build

For us, the connection with our surrogate is very important. We want to build a warm, respectful and honest relationship.

We would like to stay in regular contact during the journey not every day, but we do want to check in with kind messages, share updates, and be involved in special moments.

We plan to visit Canada once during the pregnancy and again after the birth. It’s important to us to experience this together.

We would also love to exchange photos for example, around Christmas and to create memories together during this journey.

After the birth, we would still like to stay in touch from time to time, even if just through occasional messages. We see this as a shared experience, and we want to walk this path with you not just beside it.

Vaccination information
We are comfortable with standard vaccinations and are happy to follow medical advice from the clinic and the surrogate’s doctor.
Views on termination

Our greatest wish is, of course, a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Our embryos are tested and we would only choose to terminate a pregnancy if our baby was unable to have a quality of life or if our surrogates life was in danger. We would want to make a thoughtful decision together with the surrogate and the medical team. For us, it is important that this is always approached with respect, care, and open communication.

Fun facts about me

I once went skydiving (and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!). I used to be a nurse and now I work as a care home manager. And… I can make the perfect cappuccino with my Italian moka pot!

Interests and hobbies

I love spending time with Sander going for walks, enjoying dinners with friends, or simply relaxing at home with a good conversation or a series. We enjoy the little things, being outdoors, traveling, and sharing life with the people we care about.

Traveling and seeing the world is something we truly love. We look forward to sharing that with our future child discovering new places, learning about different cultures, and creating beautiful lifelong memories together.

What friends say
“

My friends describe me as calm, caring, positive, and determined. Someone you can rely on, who listens with sincerity and is always there for others. They often say I make people feel at ease.

Fun facts about me

I used to be part of a marching band and had to join parades drum around my neck, marching along! Music is still a big part of my life: I love making playlists and there’s always music playing at home, from upbeat rhythms to mellow Sunday tunes.

Interests and hobbies

I’m a people person and I love good company. I enjoy spending time with friends, playing games, weekend getaways, and walks in nature. But I also really value quiet moments at home, just relaxing with Jim.

Traveling is something I truly look forward to seeing the world, discovering new cultures, and making new memories. I can’t wait to share that one day with our child — it feels so meaningful to pass on that sense of wonder and curiosity.

What friends say
“

Sander is the one who creates the vibe. He brings people together, always finds a way to make things cozy and fun, and is known for saying, “No worries, I’ve got this.” Friends feel at ease with him he’s spontaneous, caring, and always brings positive energy.
